Essential Definitions: (Database & Journal)

Databases: collections of references to journal articles from many journals, chapters in books, reviews, conference proceedings, reports & in some cases, dissertations & theses. Online databases are most useful for finding articles when you do not know in which journals articles are published. In many cases, databases include the full text of articles.

A Journal: Academic (or scholarly) articles are articles that have been peer-reviewed before they are published. This means that experts in the field of study will review and approve the article before the journal will publish it.

Hybrid Model of Teaching and Learning

As the University of Johannesburg Library, our outlook for 2022 is to continue having strong presence online while we welcome the students back to our campus libraries. We will be available to help those students that are not on campus while also offering face to face services (depending on directives we get from the university from time to time).

We welcome both the first year students that enrolled in 2020 and 2021 who never had the opportunity to attend physically on our campuses. For any queries I am available to assist you, kindly contact me on the following.
