Carine Basson (North West University)

Carine Basson is currently Senior Librarian: Electronic resources and Periodicals at the North-West University. She started working in the Serials section of the Ferdinand Postma Library (Potchefstroom) in 1992. She was in this section for 10 years, doing cataloguing, SAPSE statistics, journal maintenance and government publication administration. In 2002 she moved to the Information systems section with her main responsibility being the administration and coordination of all electronic resources (eJournals, eBooks, etc.). In July 2017 her position was transferred to the Information Resources section where currently her responsibilities include the ERM system, administration of all electronic resources (including the collation of statistics) and licensing.

The NWU e-book experience

In this presentation I will aim to show the history of ebooks at the NWU LIS and the current policy and procedures with regards to ebooks. The main focus will be in listing some problems we are experiencing and hope that all participants can help and give some ideas.
