Digital Literacy: Tutorial 2: Security

By following this guide on digital literacy, users will be able to communicate, use and apply digital technology in multiple formats presented via computers and perform tasks effectively in a digital environment.

Step 1: Strong Passwords

  • Do not use predictable passwords, for example when websites ask a secret question and answer such as your last high school name, it will lead to forms you filled in in the name of your high school. Cyber rats can crack  your passwords and gain access to your accounts .
  • Do not use the same password for all your online logins.

Step 2: Online Quizzes

Be cautious of taking online quizzes and tests on social media, for example to test your personality type, famous celebrity look alike etc. Usually these online quizzes ask for authentication and when you provide your details, they have your information. Step 3: Delete Old Posts
