Welcome to the Science - Prescribed Textbooks LibGuide

This Libguide provides title lists of Prescribed and Recommended books for the Faculty of Science modules.

"Prescribed" textbooks are the books that are prescribed for your module to study. 

"Recommended" textbooks/books are either from your lecturer, but also from us the Librarians!

"Reserve Collections" - location at the Circulation desk in the library, where the prescribed books are kept. The prescribed books on reserve can be used for 2 hours in the library only!

Some guidelines on how to use this LibGuide:

• From the drop-down pages, please select the subject and then the module relevant to your needs
• Each page will provide relevant print and online textbooks
• Click on the title to get detailed information about the textbook
• The Online textbooks will provide links to the full-text content. You will need to log in with your UJ credentials - UJ student number and your ULink password
• Please don't rely only on the library copies, but purchase your copy of the textbooks from the bookshops on campus
