FEBE- Industrial Engineering : Finding Books

Guide to Industrial Engineering Information Sources

Print Books

The library catalogue enables you to establish which items (books, journals, e-books, reference material, etc.).  UJ possesses in its libraries. It will  indicate whether  the book is available in print or electronic format.

To access the library catalogue, go to the UJ Website, select Library and then click on: UJ Library Catalogue

The default is on keywords. Other search options such as titleauthor,  journal titlesubjectISBN, etc. can also be selected and used for finding material.  The name of the library in which the item is to be found, is also given. If it is not at your home campus, you may request it through Inter-campus loans.

Accessing, Downloading and Printing e books

Access to electronic books hosted by subscription databases requires a UJ Database Access PIN. Additionally, the e-book platform may require additional access registration including the creation of a User Account before you are able to download or print either the complete book or parts thereof.

You can create a Database Access PIN here

To download and access E-books, you must download Adobe Digital Editions onto your device: allows you to access e-Books downloaded to your computer in either ePub or PDF format protected with Adobe Digital Rights Management (DRM). The books you purchase or download on one device will appear automatically across all the devices you have ADE on.

Short Loans (Reserve Shelf)

Some items added to the prescribed books are placed on the Reserve shelf - also known as Short loans. This material can be used only in the library. Your student card will allow you to use the two items for two hours at a time.

Two hours before the library closes, you may take an item home with you. It will be issued to you and must be returned before eight o'clock on the following working day.
