Linking information literacy to the academic world

  • To achieve academic success you need to be able to think critical and solve problems. In other words you need to be able to objectively analyse and evaluate  topics/subjects and form sound judgements based on your analysis and evaluation.
  • Now this can be difficult if you are not competent in applying information literacy skills.
  • Being an information literate skilled person, you will be able to deal with any subject or topic.
  • This unit teaches you how to assess and analyse an assignment task, assess and analyse the information needed to complete the assignment task successfully, how to define an information problem and what information literacy skills you can use during the problem –solving process.
