How to filter information retrieved from the web

 

Do you have time to read all the results?

First few results will show:

  • News on Tiger Woods
  • Homepage Tiger Woods (Will most probably have biographic details)
  • Tiger Woods: latest news 
  • Tiger Woods on twitter
  • Tiger Woods: statistics,  pictures, news, biography
  • Tiger Woods official PGA tour details
  • Tiger Woods the new member to the Bronx Zoo family
  • Tiger Woods scandal

Should you need biographical details to limit your searching, go for the official websites, e.g.

Scroll down to the bottom of the page and you will find related information on your topic, e.g. 

 

Go to https://www.google.com/advanced search

 

There are many options to filter information, such as exact word or phrase search, language, region, site, and format.

If you click on the 'Tools' tab, an additional row of tabs "Any Time" and "All Results" appear.

To filter information quickly, you can search wth the tabs, e.g. 'All', 'Flights', 'Maps', 'Videos' etc.
