What’s Exciting in EndNote 25

The latest version of Clarivate's EndNote, released in May 2025, introduces several innovative features designed to streamline your research and writing process. Here's an overview of the key updates:

AI- Powered Key Takeaway

EndNote 25 now includes Key Takeaway, a generative AI tool that analyzes PDFs in your library and provides concise summaries of the main points. This feature aids in quickly grasping the essence of articles, enhancing your research discovery process.

Cite Directly From PDFs

You can now highlight text within a PDF and insert it directly into your document, correctly formatted and cited according to your chosen style. This functionality simplifies the process of referencing specific sections of PDFs.

Enhanced Cite While You Write Add-In

The new Cite While You Write add-in for Microsoft Word allows you to browse your EndNote library within the word processor. Unlike the toolbar extension, this add-in needs to be added manually through the Add-ins option in Word. Once installed, you can manage citations, edit them, and select your preferred referencing style directly within your document.

Find a Journal Feature

EndNote 25 introduces the Find a Journal feature, accessible via the add-in. After drafting your manuscript, you can use this tool to identify appropriate journals for your article by entering your title and abstract. The feature suggests potential journals and indicates their impact factors.

Improved Searchability and Full-Text Access

Enhancements to the Find Reference Updates and Find Full-Text functions allow for easier access to full-text articles and updated reference details, ensuring the accuracy and completeness of your citations.
