What is EndNote Online/Web?

EndNote Online/Web is an online counterpart to the desktop version. Using EndNote Web in conjunction with EndNote on the desktop will allow you to access the contents of your EndNote library from any computer with an internet connection, sync references between computers and share your research with colleagues.

How to create your EndNote Online/Web account OPTION 2

Follow the steps below to create your EndNote Online/Web account.

1. Open the EndNote program on your computer

2. Select Sync Status from the left menu

3.  Select the Sync Now button in the upper right area of the screen.

4. You will be prompted to either create a new EndNote Oline account or log in to your pre-existing EndNote online account.

  • When creating your EndNote Online/Web account, you can use any email address. It does not have to be your UJ email address.
  • The first time you sync, you will be asked to create a compressed library backup. It is recommended you select Yes to create the backup.
  • The sync process is always initiated from the library in the EndNote Desktop program.

How to create your EndNote Online/Web account OPTION 1

1. Go to the EndNote Online/Web registration page. If you are unable to open the link via Chrome, please use  Firefox, Microsoft Edge and Internet Explorer.

2. Click on the "Register button" and follow the steps.

After completing the registration form, you may be required to verify your email address. Check your email inbox for a verification message and follow the provided instructions.

Log in:

Once your email is verified, return to the login page. Enter your username and password to log in to your newly created EndNote Web account.

Accessing EndNote Online/Web via Clarivate Web of Science

1. Open the UJ library licensed Clarivate Web of Science Database

2. Select Register to create a Web of Science personal account, or Sign In to your existing Web of Science personal account. (This account is a personal account in the Web of Science database and is not linked to your UJ credentials.)

 Select Products from the top navigation bar(top right), then select EndNote

3. Log in with your Web of Science personal account.
