Library - Read and Publish Agreements SANLIC : Association of Computing Machinery: ACM 2024-2026

       

The Association for Computing Machinery (ACM), a non-profit society publisher, plans to achieve full open access within five years.

Participating institutions (incl. UJ) receive access to the full ACM Digital Library and affiliated authors can also publish in ACM's Hybrid and Gold Open Access journals without paying Article Processing Charges (APC's)

Number of included articles:

There is no limit on the number of articles that can be published open access and free of any transactional article processing charges (APC's) by authors affiliated to the participating institution.

The ACM Open agreement includes 54 titles, made up of 11 journal titles, 37 transactions, and 6 proceedings.

Main features of the offer:

  • Universities pay to “bundle” access and OA publication fees in a single license paid by the institution
  • ACM’s model is “unlimited read + unlimited publish” for a single fee

The basic terms for UJ ACM Database Subscription are:

  • Institution enters 3-year agreement.
  • A fixed price for the length of the agreement.
  • Tiering and price based on publication history.
  • No fees for authors.
  • Compliant with all funder mandates.
  • Re-tiering at end of the Agreement for the next period.
  • Creative Commons for article sharing is the default.
